This is the second of two posts about my Family Beach Pageant. I wrote an introduction to this post in the first post, but I'll summarize it here for you. On July 18th, 2017, three of my sisters and myself went on a week-long family beach vacation in Florida with our parents. None of us had ever been on one before so we were really excited for all the fun that was in store! As expected, it was really hot and humid outside most days so we all spent quite a bit of time poolside or at an indoor waterpark with mom and dad watching over us. Now for what happened when they weren't looking... I'm pretty sure it was my older, wilder sister who had the idea to make this Family Beach Pageant. We ended up driving about 3 hours to a family beach house (so much for not all of us having been there before!) where the two of us started writing out our opening lines. My sister and I were pretty serious, haha. She wanted to start off with something really deep and I came up with 'Did you know that the average human's ear width is actually 1/3 of their face width?. I think of something really deep and she thinks of something really dumb. We did it for our parents to 'hide' our more ridiculous lines so they didn't get mad at us. Then we decided to go ahead and write out the more serious ones. I wanted to ask my dad if he ever wondered what it would be like to fall in love with someone who just wasn't him-self, but I was sure that wasn't good enough for the judges. So then my sister asked me what I would ask my mom on one of these occasions before she had passed away (she's an amazing grandma and nobody even realized she was sick). Her question was kind of crazy... but I thought it was great. Finally, our parents came over and we had to get ready, which meant stripping down out of our bikinis. My sister went under the bridge where she had planted a flower pot with her brother's ashes in it. I don't know why I thought that was a good idea, but it did kind of make me sad. Anyway, that was the end of the serious lines. At this point my sister started playing with my hair and pulling at my books on my amazon page so they'd all fall off my netbook... my mom yelled at her a little bit and my sister stopped. Then I realized I had a secret weapon... one of my sisters was doing my makeup! So when they weren't looking, she drew all over my face with it. Can you guess which one? She would later get us kicked out of the Family Beach Pageant by taking the hood off dad's sweatshirt and putting it on me, drawing on me some more, and then putting it back on him.. right in front of the judges. But we'll get to that part later. cfa1e77820
