It is a journey through love and heartbreaks, conflict and confusion. The movie features Dhinesh Murali, Vignesh Ramesh, Priya Banerjee in lead roles. The film has been directed by Vidya Uma Shankar, written by Vidya Uma Shankar & Arjun Kumar. The music has been composed by D. Raman & Raman. Ramanan Sivakumar is the cinematographer while Ravi Varrier has handled the choreography. The film is a romantic fiction with a good dose of comedy and drama. The movie was released on 29 June 2016 in both Tamil and Telugu languages. "Jagan Mohini" received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the performances, screenplay and cinematography but criticised its predictable storyline, lack of originality and songs as well as the climax being a bit too sudden. "Behindwoods" said that "Jagan Mohini" is a good film to watch for those who have been touched by real-life love stories with some twists. "Sify" said that the film is a good attempt by debutant Vidya Uma Shankar, who has taken care of all the departments but is let down by its predictable screenplay. "Rediff.com" wrote that despite some good moments, director Vidya Uma Shankar's lack of experience shows through in "Jagan Mohini". It however said that Priya Banerjee has done a good performance and is easily the highlight of the movie. The music for this film is composed by D. Raman & Raman. All songs are released under Divo. The movie was released on 29 June 2016 in 1,000 centers throughout Tamil Nadu and 1,000 centers including the Kerala and Karnataka. The movie was released on 19 May 2016 in Kerala and on 31 July 2016 in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.. The film's theatrical release was delayed by five weeks due to a delay in certification from the Censor Board. However, according to the producers it has been cleared with 2 cuts of kissing scenes and some other dialogues which had been trimmed earlier.
